Seoul:The finance ministers of South Korea and the United States have reaffirmed the significance of their nations' economic and financial partnership, as stated by Seoul's finance ministry.
According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's Finance Minister Lee Hyoung-il and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent held a video conference on Tuesday. This meeting marked the first interaction between the two since Lee's appointment last month.
During the conference, Bessent congratulated Lee on his new role and highlighted the critical nature of bilateral cooperation in economic and financial matters. In response, Lee expressed his gratitude for Bessent's congratulations and conveyed his hope for ongoing communication and collaboration.
The discussion also covered shared economic policy priorities and strategies to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
