Incheon Airport Check-In System Malfunction Causes Major Delays

Incheon:A malfunction in the check-in system at Incheon International Airport led to significant delays in passenger processing on Friday, as confirmed by the airport operator.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the issue began at 430 a.m. and affected the airline network connecting ticketing systems at the airport, causing intermittent connectivity problems at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Specifically, eight airlines at Terminal 1 and five airlines at Terminal 2 experienced issues.

By the afternoon, three airlines—China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and Air China—had their ticketing operations effectively halted. This resulted in long lines at check-in counters, with passengers expressing frustration over the lack of communication from airlines regarding expected recovery times.

The airport operator identified the disruption as likely stemming from a glitch in the global network of American aviation service provider ARINC and stated that efforts were being made to find solutions.
