AMCHAM and U.S. Embassy Launch Campaign to Strengthen South Korea-U.S. Partnership

Seoul: The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) and the U.S. Embassy in Seoul have announced a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing the South Korea-U.S. partnership. This initiative coincides with the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

According to Yonhap News Agency, AMCHAM and the U.S. Embassy formalized their partnership on Wednesday by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the "Freedom 250" initiative. This yearlong campaign will feature a series of commemorative programs and executive-level discussions to celebrate and deepen the alliance between South Korea and the United States.

AMCHAM explained that the programs will underscore the evolution of the South Korea-U.S. alliance. Originally focused on security, the relationship now encompasses a wide range of areas including trade, technology, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

AMCHAM Chairman James Kim emphasized the importance of shared values in the alliance, stating, "We will highlight how our shared values of freedom and innovation continue to sustain the U.S.-Korea alliance -- one of the most important in the world."
