Seoul: A former South Korean ambassador to Brazil has been appointed as the country's new ambassador to Canada, the foreign ministry said Friday. Lim Ki-mo, who also has experience serving as ambassador to Argentina, has been chosen for this significant diplomatic role.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lim Ki-mo earned a bachelor's degree in Hispanic language and literature at Seoul National University. His career in the foreign service began in 1991, marking a substantial period of service and expertise in international diplomacy.
Lim has also held the position of deputy director-general for the office that prepared for Seoul's hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Gyeongju last year. This experience further solidifies his qualifications for his new role as ambassador to Canada.
