ULSAN — A fire at an S-Oil Corporation facility was extinguished Sunday morning, three hours after it began, with no casualties reported, firefighters in Ulsan announced. The blaze started at 4:47 a.m., producing dense flames visible in photographs from the scene.
According to Yonhap News Agency, after the fire was put out, firefighters took additional precautions to incinerate any remaining dangerous substances found in the facility's pipelines by blocking the production line valve. The plant, a significant operation of the major refiner S-Oil Corp., is located about 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul.
