Girl group Aespa to perform on April 23 at Coachella in US

K-pop girl group Aespa will perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the largest outdoor music festival in the U.S.

The group’s management agency SM Entertainment on April 19 said Aespa on April 23 will perform its hits such as “Black Mamba,” “Next Level” and “Savage,” as well as an undisclosed song specifically prepared for the festival in Indio, California.

“This is the first time that a K-pop girl group has been officially invited to the main stage (of Coachella),” the agency added.

Since its inception in 1999, Coachella has attracted more than 200,000 visitors every year as one of the largest pop music festivals in the U.S. The concert is held twice for three days each (April 15-17 and 22-24) for a combined six days with the same cast.

About 120 acts will perform at this year’s edition including Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Conan Gray and Pink Sweats.

Last year in October, Aespa debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with its first mini-album “Savage,” the highest spot for a K-pop girl group’s first album.

Aespa’s performance will be livestreamed on April 24 Korean Standard Time on Coachella’s official YouTube channel.
