SEOUL — GS Holdings announced a 16.6 percent increase in its net profit for the second quarter, totaling 275.4 billion won (US$199.8 million), despite falling short of market expectations. The increase reflects modest growth in operational efficiency and revenue amidst varying market conditions.
According to Yonhap News Agency, GS Holdings achieved an operating profit of 798.1 billion won for the quarter, up from 711.9 billion won a year earlier, while revenue saw a slight increase of 1 percent to 6.2 trillion won. However, these figures did not meet the average net profit estimate of 371.1 billion won as anticipated by analysts surveyed by Yonhap Infomax, a financial data firm affiliated with Yonhap News Agency.
