Hybe to Take Legal Action Against Sublabel Executives Amid Internal Dispute

SEOUL — Hybe, South Korea's largest K-pop company, announced plans to file a legal complaint against executives of its sublabel ADOR, including CEO Min Hee-jin, citing breach of trust. The conflict centers around allegations by Hybe of an attempted takeover of the management of NewJeans, a popular girl group under ADOR.

According to Yonhap News Agency, evidence from a recent audit suggests that Min and others discussed strategies to separate from Hybe and take control of the group, potentially damaging the parent company.

Hybe's complaint will include charges of plotting to seize control and breach of trust, with further allegations that these plans included terminating contracts and instigating a public opinion battle. Min Hee-jin has denied all accusations, framing the dispute as a misinterpretation of her efforts to competently manage her responsibilities at ADOR. The company has also expressed its commitment to supporting the well-being of NewJeans during this tumultuous period.
