South Korea and Cuba to Establish Embassies in Each Other’s Capitals

SEOUL - South Korea and Cuba have agreed to open diplomatic missions in each other's countries, a significant step following the establishment of diplomatic relations earlier this year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, a South Korean delegation, headed by Song Si-jin, director general for planning and management at the foreign ministry, recently concluded talks in Havana. During these discussions, both nations consented to establish permanent embassies in Seoul and Havana and exchanged diplomatic letters to confirm this arrangement. The ministry outlined plans to initially set up a temporary mission in Havana and dispatch diplomats as part of an interim step before the official opening of a permanent embassy.
