Seoul:Girl group Illit's debut song "Magnetic" has reached a significant milestone by surpassing 900 million streams on Spotify. This achievement marks the song as the fastest debut track by a K-pop group to hit this number on the leading music streaming platform, as announced by the group's agency on Tuesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the track achieved this milestone on Sunday, approximately two years and seven months after its initial release in March 2024, as reported by Belift Lab.
The agency highlighted that this is the shortest duration for a debut song by a K-pop group to reach such a number of streams on Spotify. The dance track "Magnetic," which blends Pluggnb and house genres, likens the experience of being irresistibly drawn to a crush to the pull of a magnet.
Since its release, "Magnetic" has gained widespread popularity, securing top positions on local music charts and making its way onto the U.S. Billboard's Hot 100 main singles chart as well as the British Official Singles Chart Top 100.
