SEOUL — Several low-cost airlines in South Korea experienced disruptions in booking and issuing air tickets on Friday due to an IT outage that also impacted other sectors globally.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the cyber outage affected the airport ticketing operations of Jeju Air Co., Eastar Jet Co., and Air Premia Inc. The source noted that the airlines had to revert to manual check-in processes as their computer systems, which rely on Microsoft's cloud service, were compromised. This incident is part of a broader series of disruptions that have affected various global airline and financial services.
