Jungkook’s Debut Album “Golden” Breaks Spotify Record for K-pop Solo Artists

Seoul, Jungkook of BTS has set a new Spotify record with his debut solo album "Golden," achieving the highest number of streams in a single day for a K-pop solo artist.

According to Yonhap News Agency, "Golden," which debuted on the platform on Friday, was streamed over 39.65 million times, marking a historic high for a K-pop solo artist's first day on the global daily chart. The album features 11 tracks, with the lead singles "Seven" and "Standing Next to You" securing the top two spots, respectively. Additional tracks "3D," "Hate You," and "Yes or No" also landed in the top 20, while "Please Don't Change," "Closer to You," "Somebody," "Shot Glass of Tears," and "Too Sad to Dance" made it into the top 30 on the streaming list.

"Golden" has also achieved significant sales figures, surpassing 2 million copies within just five hours of release, setting a record for the bestselling album by a K-pop solo artist. Jungkook, the youngest member of the globally renowned group BTS, had previously entered the music charts as a solo artist with his digital single "Seven," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and ranked third on the British Official Singles chart upon its release in July. His follow-up single, "3D," continued his chart success, placing at number five on both charts two months later.
