SEOUL — Kakao Corp., in collaboration with the Seoul city government, has commenced construction on what will be Seoul's first arena specifically designed for K-pop performances. The Seoul Arena, set to open in March 2027 in the northern district of Dobong, is expected to be the city's largest dedicated K-pop venue with a capacity of 28,000 people.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul Arena is designed to enhance the live performance experience for fans and artists alike, while also aiming to boost the K-pop industry’s prominence globally. Beyond the main arena, Kakao plans to develop a surrounding cultural complex that will include a mid-sized concert hall and a movie theater, further enriching Seoul’s cultural landscape.
