Seoul Crackdown Leads to Prosecution of Bar Owners and Employees for Indecent Flyers

SEOUL - A group of bar owners, employees, and a public servant have been referred to prosecution for their involvement in distributing indecent flyers in Seoul’s Gangnam district, an area known for its bustling nightlife but also close to several schools.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the crackdown has resulted in 41 individuals being forwarded to the prosecution for further investigation. The group includes 12 people directly involved in distributing the flyers, two bar owners, 24 employees, three print shop owners, and notably, a Level 9 local government servant who was allegedly distributing flyers while employed at a bar. Initial arrests made in May during a routine operation against illegal flyer distribution have led to further arrests, totaling 36 additional individuals facing potential charges without physical detention.
