Tokoname:Aichi: South Korea's 17-year-old skateboarder Kang Jun-i achieved a remarkable victory by securing the gold medal in the men's street skateboarding event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Sunday. This victory marked him as the first South Korean to claim an Asiad title in skateboarding.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kang delivered an outstanding performance at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, approximately 35 kilometers from Nagoya, Japan. He achieved a total score of 180.85 points, surpassing his competitors, Japanese skateboarders Toa Sasaki and Ginwoo Onodera, who scored 172.35 and 168.11, respectively.

The street discipline, where Kang excelled, involves performing tricks on a course with stairs, rails, and other obstacles. Athletes are judged based on the difficulty, execution, and originality of their tricks.
During the run section, where skaters execute a series of tricks using course obstacles, Kang scored 88.45 points on his third attempt. In the trick section, despite failing to complete his first two attempts, he achieved 92.40 points on his third try, securing his victory with a total of 180.85 points.
