SEOUL - Roh Si-hwan, the current leader in home runs in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), is set to miss at least three weeks of play due to a shoulder injury, his team, the Hanwha Eagles, announced on Monday. Roh has been diagnosed with partial damage to the labrum in his left shoulder after undergoing tests on Saturday and again on Monday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Roh's injury involves a significant amount of inflammation, necessitating a minimum three-week recovery period. Roh, who topped the KBO last year with 31 home runs and 101 RBIs, both career highs, was a standout performer in the league and a close contender in the MVP race. This season, he continues to lead his team with 18 home runs and 60 RBIs. Despite participating in the recent home run derby, Roh was sidelined from the All-Star Game due to shoulder pains. The Eagles, who are currently struggling near the bottom of the league standings, face the challenge of pushing for a playoff spot without their leading slugger as the second half of the season begins.
