Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed significant gains as numerous major companies reported an increase in their stock prices. Leading the upward trend was HYOSUNG HEAVY, which saw its stock price rise by 185,000 to close at 2,731,000. Other notable performers included SK hynix, with an increase of 86,000 to reach a closing price of 1,056,000, and SamsungElec, which climbed by 14,600 to end at 208,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, HyundaiMtr also experienced a positive surge, with its shares increasing by 23,000 to close at 545,000. POSCO Holdings and SamsungElecMech followed suit, reporting gains of 7,000 and 17,500, closing at 349,500 and 464,000, respectively. DB INSURANCE recorded a strong performance, with an increase of 10,700, closing at 189,800.
LG Energy Solution and S-Oil contributed to the upward momentum, with their stock prices rising by 3,000 and 4,100 to close at 383,500 and 110,600, respectively. Companies like LG Innotek and ISUPETASYS saw significant gains as well, with increases of 13,000 and 10,800, ending at 268,500 and 125,100. Meanwhile, SamsungSecu's shares went up by 4,100, closing at 101,500.
The upward trend was not universal, as SKC and Korea Aerospace saw declines of 200 and 7,700, closing at 98,800 and 194,300, respectively. However, the overall performance of the KOSPI 200 reflects a positive outlook, with many companies reporting gains across various sectors.
