Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced notable gains on Wednesday, with several key stocks showing significant upward movements. Among the top performers, HD Hyundai saw an impressive rise, closing at 255,000 KRW, marking an increase of 8,500 KRW. LS also made substantial gains with a closing price of 330,000 KRW, up by 27,500 KRW. Other notable climbers included KPIC and LandF, closing at 110,300 KRW and 127,000 KRW, respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the market's performance was buoyed by positive movements across various sectors. DB HiTek closed at 111,500 KRW, an increase of 8,100 KRW, while SK hynix surged by 63,000 KRW to reach a closing price of 1,856,000 KRW. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries also contributed to the upward momentum, climbing 19,000 KRW to end at 463,500 KRW.
Of the KOSPI 200 stocks, several experienced declines. Notable among them was CJ, which fell by 500 KRW to close at 130,500 KRW, and Hyundai MandF INS, which saw a drop of 1,300 KRW, finishing at 49,000 KRW. PanOcean and SamsungFandMIns also closed lower, with decreases of 70 KRW and 6,000 KRW, respectively.
The day's trading highlighted significant investor interest in sectors such as technology and heavy industries, while some of the declines were observed in logistics and commercial sectors. Despite the mixed results, the overall performance of the KOSPI 200 reflected a positive trend for the day.
