KOSPI 200 Shows Growth Amidst Varied Closures; POSCO Holdings and NCsoft See Gains

SEOUL — The South Korean stock market displayed a varied close with significant gains for some major corporations while others experienced declines in their closing prices.

According to Yonhap News Agency, POSCO Holdings saw a notable increase, closing at 427,500 won, up 25,000 won. NCsoft also experienced growth, ending the day at 238,000 won, up 3,000 won. Meanwhile, Hanchem and SK showed a positive trend with Hanchem climbing 7,500 won to 158,500 won and SK rising 4,000 won to 148,900 won.

Conversely, LotteChilsung, AmoreG, and DB INSURANCE recorded losses. LotteChilsung went down by 2,200 won to 149,300 won, AmoreG decreased by 800 won to 28,800 won, and DB INSURANCE dropped 5,300 won to 84,000 won.

The automotive industry had a mixed outcome with HyundaiMtr advancing 1,700 won to 172,000 won, while Hyundai Elev dropped slightly by 50 won to 42,300 won. Asiana Airlines also faced a downturn, declining by 970 won to 10,210 won.

In the retail sector, LOTTE SHOPPING dipped by 200 won to 73,000 won, with SHINSEGAE INTERNATIONAL down by 70 won to 15,580 won. However, LOTTE TOUR edged up by 40 won to 10,670 won.

The technology sector presented mixed results as SamsungElec increased by 1,100 won to 69,700 won, while KEPCO went down by 580 won to 16,190 won. SAMSUNG SDS had a marginal increase of 100 won to 138,200 won.

Financial institutions also witnessed varied results, with SamsungSecu making gains of 250 won to 36,700 won, while Samsung Card fell by 100 won to 31,250 won.

The mixed close of the KOSPI 200 reflects the dynamic and unpredictable nature of the stock market in current economic conditions.
