Goheung:Various components developed by LG Group affiliates are set to be tested aboard South Korea's Nuri space rocket, which is scheduled for its fifth launch this week.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Nuri rocket is planned to lift off from the Naro Space Center in Goheung, located about 330 kilometers south of Seoul, at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. LG Sciencepark has teamed up with the Unmanned Exploration Laboratory, a startup focused on developing unmanned lunar exploration rovers, to place five types of components from LG affiliates into space.
This launch represents the first collaborative effort by LG companies to test their components in space. The components being tested include a camera module from LG Innotek Co., a battery pack from LG Energy Solution Ltd., and a power module, attitude-control actuator, and satellite communications antenna from LG Electronics Co.
LG Sciencepark intends to verify the components' performance under space conditions and use the data collected during their operation to enhance and advance their technologies.
