Diaz launched a two-run shot in the first inning and followed it with another two-run home run in the third, prompting the exit of the veteran left-hander from the game. This feat made Diaz the first player in Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) history to homer in back-to-back at-bats in two different games within a single postseason. Diaz's impressive performance brought his postseason total to five home runs, setting a new franchise record for the Lions. Joining the record-setting achievements, Samsung's third baseman Kim Young-woong also hit a home run right after Diaz in the f irst inning, placing him among a select group of six players with four postseason homers. At just 21 years, two months, and four days old, Kim became the youngest player in KBO history to achieve this milestone, surpassing the previous record held by a retired Lions legend. In another remarkable moment of the game, Kia Tigers' designated hitter Choi Hyoung-woo set an age-related record by hitting a solo home run in the fifth inning. At 40 years, 10 months, and 12 days old, Choi became the oldest player to homer in a KBO postseason game, breaking the prior record held by former SSG Landers player Kim Kang-min by approximately nine months.
