Oh Ji-hwan’s Late Home Run Propels LG Twins to Victory in Korean Series

Suwon, South Korea - LG Twins' captain Oh Ji-hwan delivered a stunning performance in Game 3 of the Korean Series, hitting a dramatic three-run home run to clinch an 8-7 victory over the KT Wiz. In a critical moment on Friday night at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, with the Twins trailing 7-5 in the ninth inning, Oh stepped up to bat with two outs and two men on base. The team was facing a potential loss after the Wiz had scored three runs in the eighth inning.

According to Yonhap news Agency, Oh, who had not played in the championship round until this week, showcased remarkable skill by hitting his second home run in as many games.

Oh's decisive home run came after a mound conference by the Wiz, where he anticipated a fastball from closer Kim Jae-yoon. His strategic approach paid off as he connected with the pitch, securing the lead for the Twins, who now lead the best-of-seven series 2-1. Reflecting on the game, Oh emphasized his team's resilience and his determination to contribute, particularly after an earlier error in the fifth inning. Park Dong-won, another key player for the Twins, also contributed with two home runs in the series, setting up an early contest for the Korean Series MVP award.
