SEOUL – Authorities conducted raids on religious facilities associated with Huh Kyung-young, the honorary chairman of the National Revolutionary Party, following allegations of sexual harassment by several of his followers.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the raids took place at Huh's "Haneulgung" (Sky Palace) in Yangju and a lecture hall in Seoul’s Jongno district to collect evidence pertaining to the claims. Reports indicate that about 20 individuals have accused Huh of inappropriate behavior, alleging he touched female followers under the guise of transferring spiritual energy, a claim his attorneys deny, stating the interactions were consensual and part of spiritual practices.
Huh, who recently contended unsuccessfully for a seat in the National Assembly, has faced public scrutiny over these allegations, intensifying after his electoral defeat.
