President Lee Jae Myung to Enhance Public Engagement via Multiple Platforms

Accra:Seoul President Lee Jae Myung announced plans to increase his engagement with the public through various platforms, including live broadcasts, the press, on-site visits, and social media.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the president shared these intentions on the social platform X, where he posted a news article advocating for more frequent interaction with reporters covering the presidential office. Lee expressed his commitment to expanding live broadcasts of state administration and increasing his interaction with the media and through social networking services.

President Lee has regularly utilized social media to connect directly with citizens, sharing insights into his official activities and diplomatic engagements while also addressing social issues. In a meeting with reporters on Monday, he described social media as his "lifeline," emphasizing its essential role in his presidency.

Additionally, President Lee addressed opposition criticism regarding the participation of the prosecution and serious crime investigation chiefs as observers at Cabinet meetings. In another post on X, he argued that excluding these officials from Cabinet meetings would violate constitutional provisions and contradict the presidential authority to oversee administrative affairs, as specified by the government organization law.

Kim Ji-yong, the first chief of the Serious Crime Investigation Agency (SCIA), attended a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday for the first time since his appointment earlier this month. His presence sparked opposition concerns about the potential impact on his independence as the head of an investigative body.
