According to Yonhap News Agency, President Yoon made this emergency order while in Hawaii after receiving updates on the severe impacts of recent heavy downpours in South Korea. He emphasized the urgency of mobilizing all available personnel and equipment for rescue operations and to prevent further damages. Additionally, President Yoon called for the evacuation of residents from landslide-prone areas and the restriction of access to flood-prone regions in anticipation of more rain. The state weather agency has forecasted another round of monsoon rains to affect most parts of the country until late Wednesday, underscoring the critical need for timely and effective action to safeguard vulnerable communities.
