President Yoon Suk Yeol Serves Meals to the Needy in Seoul Soup Kitchen

SEOUL – In a gesture of solidarity with the less fortunate, President Yoon Suk Yeol took part in volunteer work at a soup kitchen in Seoul on Wednesday. The president was seen preparing and serving kimchi stew among other dishes to the homeless and needy at the facility located within Myeongdong Cathedral, which provides free meals to approximately 750 people three times a week.

According to Yonhap News Agency, This visit marks President Yoon's third involvement with the soup kitchen, following his initial participation in March 2022 as president-elect and a subsequent visit after his inauguration in September of the same year. The menu for Wednesday included a hearty meal of kimchi stew with pork, seasoned cucumber and chives, and Thai shrimp dumplings, with President Yoon actively engaging in the meal preparation and distribution.

The presidential office also contributed to the cause by donating 2 tons of rice to the soup kitchen, underscoring the administration's commitment to community service and support for vulnerable populations. President Yoon's hands-on approach and personal engagement with the volunteers and recipients at the soup kitchen reflect his administration's dedication to addressing issues of poverty and homelessness.
