SEOUL, - Samsung SDI Co. disclosed on Thursday that its third-quarter net income amounted to 622.4 billion won (US$459.3 million), marking a 2.5 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.
According to a new release by the Yonhap News Agency, operating profit for the July-September quarter was 496 billion won, a 12.3 percent decline from the previous year. Despite the drop in net and operating profits, revenue saw a rise of 10.8 percent, totaling 5.94 trillion won.
The reported operating profit marginally exceeded market expectations, being 1.1 percent higher than the average estimate as surveyed by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. An estimate for the net profit was not available for comparison.
