Seoul and Tokyo Hold First In-Person Ministerial Talks at G20

SEOUL - Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul of South Korea engaged in bilateral discussions with his Japanese counterpart, Yoko Kamikawa, in Brazil, marking their first in-person meeting since Cho assumed office. The talks took place on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Rio de Janeiro.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting between Cho and Kamikawa underscored a mutual commitment to enhance bilateral relations founded on trust. The ministers, who had previously conversed via telephone last month, reiterated their dedication to jointly address North Korea's provocations. This collaborative stance aligns closely with the United States, amidst growing concerns over Pyongyang's aggressive posturing and its unlawful military engagements with Russia.
