SEOUL - Authorities in Seoul announced plans for stringent enforcement against any illegal activities during large-scale rallies scheduled for the upcoming weekend.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Korean Medical Association (KMA) is organizing a protest in Yeouido district against the government's medical school enrollment quota increase, expecting participation from about 25,000 individuals. Additional demonstrations, including a rally by the Liberty Unification Party anticipating 35,000 attendees, are slated for the three-day holiday period starting with March 1 Independence Movement Day. Police are preparing to deploy approximately 8,000 officers from 134 units to manage the events and have pledged prompt action to mitigate any unlawful road occupations, traffic disruptions, or assaults on law enforcement personnel.
