S. Korea and UAE Forge Ahead with Railway and Infrastructure Cooperation

SEOUL - In recent discussions, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to enhance their collaboration in railway construction, infrastructure, and energy sectors. The meetings, held in the UAE, were part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation, including hydrogen and clean energy solutions for public transportation.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Park Sang-woo, the South Korean Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, met with his UAE counterpart, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and other high-level officials to discuss the expansion of partnership opportunities. The UAE has expressed interest in the active involvement of South Korean companies in its domestic railway projects.

Further discussions with Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, focused on advancing cooperation in the field of hydrogen energy. Meetings with Mohammed Ali Mohammed Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, explored the potential for incorporating South Korean technological advancements in Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure projects.
