SEOUL - Seoul Subway Line No. 3 is operating normally following a brief disruption caused by a train fire near Daechi Station early Monday morning. Despite the early incident, regular service was quickly restored, ensuring no impact on the morning rush hour.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the fire broke out at 3:42 a.m. on a maintenance train between Dogok and Daechi stations due to a battery issue in the motorcar on the southbound track. Firefighters responded promptly, extinguishing the blaze shortly after their arrival. At 5:34 a.m., Seoul Metro advised commuters to seek alternative transportation due to smoke, but by 5:54 a.m., they issued a follow-up message confirming that the smoke had been cleared and subway operations had resumed as usual.
