Seoul Urges Restraint Amid Rising Tensions in Israel-Iran Conflict


Seoul: South Korea’s presidential office called on all parties involved in the Israel-Iran conflict to show restraint, expressing the country’s opposition to any further escalation of military tension in the region. A presidential official emphasized South Korea’s stance against military confrontation and urged all involved parties to practice restraint in light of the ongoing conflict between the two Middle Eastern nations.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the official’s comments were made in the context of President Lee Jae-myung’s upcoming attendance at the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada. The summit, scheduled from Sunday to Tuesday, may include discussions on the Israel-Iran conflict, although it is anticipated that such discussions will occur in a limited capacity during an expanded G7 session.

Earlier in the week, South Korea’s foreign ministry issued special travel advisories for Israel and parts of Iran, highlighting the government’s concerns over the increasing tensions. A ministry spokespers
on condemned actions that destabilize the Middle East and called for maximum restraint from all parties to help de-escalate the situation.
