South Korea and Bangladesh Celebrate 50 Years of Diplomatic Relations
SEOUL – South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol and Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commemorated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between their countries on Monday, the foreign ministry reported. This milestone marks half a century of bilateral relations since their establishment in 1973.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Yoon highlighted in his message the development of close and friendly cooperation between South Korea and Bangladesh in various sectors, including trade, investment, infrastructure, and development cooperation. He emphasized the desire to further strengthen this partnership over the next 50 years. Yoon expressed hopes of expanding cooperation into new areas, such as climate change response, science and technology, and the defense industry.
In her message, Prime Minister Hasina expressed confidence in deepening cooperation between the two countries. She focused on areas such as trade, investment, human resource development, water resources management, science and technology, and education, aiming to foster a more comprehensive and mutually beneficial partnership.
