South Korean Golfers Shine in Opening Round at Asian Games

Kasugai:All three South Korean men participating in the men's golf tournament at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games made it into the top 10 after the opening round at Kasugai Country Club East Course. LIV Golf player Mun Do-yeob tied for third place with a bogey-free round of four-under 66, trailing co-leaders Wang Wei-hsuan of Chinese Taipei and Kazuki Higa of Japan by just one stroke.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Tom Kim, also known as Kim Joo-hyung on the PGA Tour, finished the day at three-under, tying for seventh place. Kim Seong-hyeon, a former PGA Tour member, is tied for ninth at two-under. The South Korean team is also performing well, currently tied for second in the team competition with a score of seven-under, just two strokes behind Japan.

Mun Do-yeob achieved a steady performance with one birdie on the front nine and three more on the back nine. Kim Joo-hyung, who arrived shortly after playing in the Presidents Cup in the United States, managed five birdies despite a couple of bogeys. Kim Seong-hyeon, aiming to return to the PGA Tour, scored three birdies, one eagle, and three bogeys.

The golf competition, consisting of four rounds, is scheduled to conclude on Saturday.
