South Korean Markets to Delay Opening for College Entrance Exam

SEOUL - In an adjustment to accommodate the national college entrance examination, South Korea's financial markets will open one hour later on November 16, the Korea Exchange announced on Thursday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, both the main stock market and the tech-focused secondary market will commence trading at 10 a.m. and will continue operations until the usual closing time of 4:30 p.m. This one-off change in schedule is in consideration of the College Scholastic Ability Test, a significant academic event in the country.

The Ministry of Education has reported that the critical examination will see participation from over 504,000 students, who will be dispersed across 1,279 test centers nationwide to undertake the exam.
