The South Korean foreign ministry has issued a strong advisory urging its citizens in Lebanon and Israel to exit both countries due to increasing security concerns in the region.
According to Yonhap News Agency, During a meeting chaired by Second Vice Foreign Minister Kang In-sun, the ministry reviewed the ongoing security situation in the Middle East, particularly after the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, in Tehran. Both Iran and Hamas have attributed the assassination to Israel, escalating regional tensions. There are approximately 530 South Koreans in Israel, 130 in Lebanon, and 110 in Iran. The ministry has escalated travel advisories to Level 3 for Israel and Lebanon, urging departures, and a Level 4 ban for travel to the Gaza Strip, while most of Iran remains under a Level 2 caution.
