Trump Avoids North Korea in U.N. Speech, Focuses on Iran and Cuba

New York:U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a high-profile address to the U.N. General Assembly, omitting any mention of North Korea or Korean Peninsula issues. This comes despite his expressed intention to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un later this year. According to Yonhap News Agency, Trump addressed several key topics during his speech, including the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and artificial intelligence, which he referred to as "superintelligence." Notably absent was any reference to North Korea, despite previous speculation that Trump might revive discussions with Kim Jong-un, following their three meetings during his first term. Trump's comments on Iran included a declaration of a "big decision" regarding whether to strike a deal with the Islamic Republic or "annihilate" it. He expressed optimism that a deal could be reached after the U.S. midterm elections in November and reiterated that Iran "will never have a nuclear weapon." He urged all nations to enforce economic isola tion of Iran until it ceases its nuclear ambitions and support for terrorism. Touching on Cuba, Trump highlighted his administration's efforts to bring about a "fundamental" change in the country, describing Havana as "an absolutely failed state." He noted that Secretary of State Marco Rubio is leading negotiations with Cuba, emphasizing the U.S. stance against allowing foreign adversaries to threaten America. Lastly, Trump addressed the issue of artificial intelligence, rejecting any globalist control schemes and advocating for the term "superintelligence" over "artificial intelligence," suggesting a shift in terminology for U.S. documents and potentially worldwide.
