Seoul: The Twins clinched the 2025 Korean Series title after defeating the Eagles in a thrilling best-of-seven series. The series commenced with the Twins securing victories in the first two games held at their home ground, Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, on Sunday and Monday. However, the Twins faced a setback in Daejeon during the third game on Wednesday, where they suffered a 7-3 loss after conceding six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Undeterred, the Twins made a remarkable comeback less than 24 hours later, scoring six times in the top of the ninth to win Game 4 by 7-4, setting the stage for their decisive victory on Friday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Twins’ success in the series was bolstered by a strong performance from starter Anders Tolhurst, who pitched seven innings allowing only one run. Kim Hyun-soo, who was named the Korean Series MVP, contributed significantly with three hits and two RBIs, helping to seal the series for the Twins.
The Twins entered the Korean Series with the best regular-season record of 85-56-3, which earned them a direct bye to the finals. Historically, teams with the best regular-season records have claimed the Korean Series approximately 85 percent of the time.
The Eagles, who finished second in the regular season standings, sought to win their first league title since 1999. This marked their first postseason appearance since 2018 and their first journey to the Korean Series since 2006.
