Twosome Place Set to Launch First U.S. Outlet in Alexandria, Virginia

Alexandria: South Korean coffee chain Twosome Place announced on Thursday its plans to enter the U.S. market next month, marking its first foray into a major international market.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Twosome Place will inaugurate its initial overseas outlet in Alexandria, Virginia, in October. The company has future plans to expand across the DMV area, which includes Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. This strategic move is part of Twosome Place's broader objective to establish a foothold in key U.S. cities and evolve into a prominent brand within the United States. The company's Chief Executive, Moon Young-ju, emphasized the significance of this move during a recent press conference, highlighting the brand's 25-year history in South Korea's food and beverage sector.

"The U.S. will be our first stage, and the opening of our first Alexandria store will mark the beginning of a new chapter in Twosome's global journey," stated Moon. In its U.S. operations, the company plans to integrate its expertise in coffee-and-dessert pairings with unique Korean flavors and local consumer tastes to create a tailored experience for the American market.

Twosome Place's broader vision includes expanding into additional international markets starting in 2028, using the insights and experience gained from its U.S. operations as a foundation for future growth. Established in 2002, Twosome Place currently operates 1,750 outlets across South Korea and is wholly owned by the global investment firm Carlyle Group.
