Wildfire on Mount Bukhan in Seoul Nearly Contained After Rapid Response

Seoul: A wildfire erupted on Mount Bukhan in Seoul late Saturday evening, but officials have reported that the blaze was almost contained within approximately three hours of its onset.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the wildfire began at about 7:25 p.m. on a ridge near Hyangrobong peak, located in central Seoul. By 10:10 p.m., firefighting authorities confirmed that the fire was about 95 percent contained, having scorched an estimated 165 square meters of land.

In response to the emergency, fire authorities mobilized 346 personnel and dispatched 29 firefighting vehicles to manage the situation effectively. The swift action and strategic deployment were crucial in bringing the fire under control.

Authorities intend to conduct a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the precise cause of the fire, following the complete extinguishment of the remaining embers.
