LONDON — Hyundai Motor Group has reported a 1.3 percent increase in its vehicle sales in Britain for the first half of 2024, continuing its upward trajectory in one of its key European markets.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai Motor, along with its subsidiaries Kia and Genesis, sold a combined total of 107,326 units during the January-June period, up from the previous year. This growth follows a record-setting annual performance in 2023, where the group sold 196,239 units. Hyundai Motor Group is optimistic about surpassing 200,000 units in sales by the end of the year, aiming for its highest-ever annual performance in the UK. The company's market share stood at 10.66 percent in the first half of the year, with Kia and Hyundai Motor ranking fourth and ninth in sales, respectively. The group's eco-friendly vehicle sales also saw a significant increase, with 53,169 units sold, marking a 9 percent rise from the previous year. Hyundai plans to further its market presence by featuring new models at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, showcasing the GV60 Magma Concept and the G80 Electrified Magma Concept under the Genesis brand.
