INCHEON — The Incheon International Airport has reported a substantial increase in international passenger traffic in the first half of 2024, signaling a robust recovery in global travel demand.
According to Yonhap News Agency, The Incheon International Airport Corp announced on Friday that approximately 34 million passengers flew on international routes through the airport, marking a 39.5 percent increase from the first half of the previous year. This resurgence nearly reaches pre-pandemic levels, achieving 96.6 percent of the traffic seen in 2019. On February 25, over 21,000 travelers passed through the airport, setting a record for the highest single-day traffic since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The most frequented destination was Southeast Asia, attracting 30.7 percent of total passengers, followed by China and the Americas.
