BTS by year’s end to get official medal marking 10th anniversary of debut

The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corp. (KOMSCO) on Nov. 28 said it will release an official medal commemorating the 10th anniversary of the debut of boy band BTS.

To mark the occasion next year, KOMSCO over the past year has prepared commemorative medal operations jointly with BTS’ management agency Hybe so that the medal conveys high value and meaning.

The medal will combine KOMSCO’s manufacturing technology and a highly artistic design using BTS’ intellectual property.

The first medal, with a motif using the BTS logo and number 10, will come out this year and the second to be released next year is expected to feature each member’s portrait.

KOMSCO CEO Bahn Jahng-shick said, “Fully utilizing our cutting-edge minting technology honed over the past 70 years, we will produce a commemorative medal befitting the status of the world’s best artist and promote Korea to the world.”

The medals will be available on KOMSCO Mall (www.koreamint.com) and Hybe’s official social media channels after their release dates are confirmed this year.
