Footage Unveiled of Massive South Korean Flag on Dokdo Island

Doha:Seoul Footage showcasing a massive South Korean national flag on Dokdo Island was released in a social media post on Sunday to commemorate Dokdo Day.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the promotional video features a 30-by-20-meter Taegeukgi flag unfurled by 70 South Koreans at a pier on the island. The 60-second footage, captured by drone, was shared by Seo Kyoung-duk, a professor at Sungshin Women's University in Seoul.

The video includes various images of Dokdo Island in the East Sea and encourages foreigners to visit as part of a global promotional campaign. South Korea maintains that Dokdo is its territory based on historical, geographical, and international legal grounds, firmly rejecting Japan's claims. The country also maintains a small police presence on the islets to demonstrate effective control.
