SEOUL, - A sinkhole measuring four meters in depth emerged in Yeouido's financial district, resulting in minor injuries to a pedestrian, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
According to a news release by Yonhap News Agency, the sinkhole appeared at 11 a.m. on a traffic island connecting the crosswalk in front of the IFC mall in western Seoul.
A man in his 30s was sent to a hospital for treatment of a leg abrasion, as stated by officials. The Yeongdeungpo Ward office has announced plans to investigate the cause of the sinkhole and to undertake repairs to the affected area.
