GM Korea Surpasses 10 million Vehicle Exports

SEOUL, - GM Korea Co., the South Korean subsidiary of General Motors Co., announced on Thursday that its cumulative vehicle exports have exceeded 10 million units. This milestone was reached 21 years after the company's establishment in 2002.

According to Yonhap News Agency, 35 percent of the fully manufactured vehicles were exported to North America, making it the largest market, followed by Western Europe, which received 26 percent of the exports. The company also noted significant sales in the United States, with over 2.5 million vehicles sold.

As of November, GM Korea reported accumulative overseas shipments totaling 10.82 million units. When including complete knockdown units, the company's total exports amount to approximately 25 million units.

Among the various models exported, the Chevrolet Aveo subcompact car led with 2.21 million units shipped overseas. This was followed by the Spark and Trax models, with 1.94 million and 1.78 million units sold internationally, respectively.
