HD Korea Shipbuilding Secures $1.08 Billion LNG Ship Order from Oceania

YEONGAM — HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE) announced on Monday that it has been awarded an order worth 1.43 trillion won ($1.08 billion) for the construction of liquefied natural gas (LNG) ships from a client in the Oceania region.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the ships will be constructed at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co.'s shipyard in Yeongam, located 308 kilometers south of Seoul, with a delivery deadline set for January 2028. The company did not disclose the name of the shipper.

This recent acquisition brings HD KSOE, a subholding company under HD Hyundai (formerly Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings), to 44.3 percent, or $5.98 billion, of its $13.5 billion annual order target for the year.
