Hyundai Motor Promotes South Korea’s 2030 World Expo Bid at APEC Summit

SEOUL – Hyundai Motor Co. has initiated a campaign to support South Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo. This promotional effort is taking place at the current Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum summit in San Francisco.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai, the company is utilizing custom-designed versions of its electrified Ioniq 5, EV6, and G80 models at various APEC venues and landmarks in San Francisco. The summit, which concludes on Friday (local time), serves as an ideal platform for Hyundai to showcase the "Busan is Ready" slogan, along with images representing key symbols of Busan, such as seagulls and Gwangan Bridge.

This campaign is part of Hyundai's broader promotional strategy, which earlier included similar initiatives at the United Nations General Assembly in New York and the Group of 20 Summit in New Delhi. The decision on the host city for the 2030 World Expo, which includes Busan, Riyadh, and Rome as contenders, will be made later this month in Paris by the member states of the Bureau International des Expositions, the organization responsible for overseeing the World Expo.
