JCS Chairman Attends Indo-Pacific Security Forum to Discuss Regional Challenges

SEOUL – Gen. Kim Myung-soo, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), participated in a multinational security forum on Wednesday, focusing on security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region, as announced by his office.

According to Yonhap News Agency, which was hosted by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command via video links. The forum also saw participation from senior military officials from 20 other countries, including Japan, Australia, and India.

During the meeting, Gen. Kim addressed North Korea's recent launch of a military spy satellite on November 21, labeling it a violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions and a provocative act that endangers peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the broader Indo-Pacific region. He emphasized the need for a coordinated international response to effectively deter and counteract North Korea's nuclear and missile threats.
