KG Mobility Reports Sales Decline in February Amid Weak Demand

SEOUL — KG Mobility, previously known as SsangYong Motor Co., reported a 9.1 percent decline in vehicle sales for February, attributing the drop to decreased demand and a shortened month due to the Lunar New Year holiday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, The company disclosed that it sold 9,452 vehicles last month, down from 10,401 units in the same period a year earlier. Domestic sales experienced a significant decrease, falling 44.8 percent to 3,748 units, reflecting sluggish market demand. However, KG Mobility's exports saw a 56.4 percent increase, with 5,704 vehicles shipped abroad, driven by heightened demand in Hungary, Britain, Spain, and Turkey.

KG Mobility's CEO, Chung Yong-won, expressed optimism about reversing the sales downturn. The company plans to enhance its global presence by launching key models, including the Torres EVX, and by reinforcing its operations in the domestic market.
